Two thoughts:
1. If you want some
great vegetable dishes and cheap beer. Go here. There's English on the menu and
locals all over on Saturday night.
2. A crap load of
restaurants call themselves bia hoi ha noi. (There are few copyright laws
here). In fact the exact same name is across the street. If you want the one we
went to, look at my image with the address on it.

What a blast!
10,000vnd (less than
50cents USD) a beer.
Great local food
The unexpected bonus of
a street performer.
Locals you could fall
in love with.
We had such a good
night. Don't expect silver service or all the western niceties of restaurants
we are used to. As far as decor and cleanliness goes it is on par with most local
eating places.
What we went to Vietnam
for was not western food or standards but the culture, people and food and we
certainly we're disappointed here.
Don't be shy about
having a conversation with other locals having a beer and eating here. It is a
social gathering spot and the locals loved engaging with us even if we could
only understand the occasional word.
We ended up drinking
with some of them and having a great laugh and they kept on buying more beer
everyone we said we love Vietnam.
The kids were welcomed
by all and we were surprised to here from them that this was also one of the
best nights they had in the entire 3 weeks were were away.
A fantastic cheap,
cheerful and fun night out but remember YOU have to be part of the fun and be
proactive in starting conversations.
